Your new role

Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Early Help Family Support Practitioner to work with The Supporting Families Team.

The team offers full family intensive interventions to families in Southend with complex needs. A family support practitioner will hold a case load of families, and lone work in clients homes, schools and the community across Southend. Practitioners will work in a restorative way to complete whole family assessments, which will inform outcome based family plans which are  are reviewed in multiagency meetings .

You will be expected to manage your own diary, carry out frequent home visits and as the Lead Professional, you will arrange and chair review multiagency meetings.

 

The position involves lots of home and community visiting. There is an expectation to be office based 50% of the time which is agreed with the line manager and allows the team to work together.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the position, applicants must have experience within children safeguarding and need to have experience of lone working in the community, providing interventions and support to vulnerable families.

The role requires excellent assessment and outcome focused planning skills, as well as knowledge and experience of trauma informed practice.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of using case recording systems and be able to demonstrate analytical skills in understanding change and how this informs practice.

Applicants will need to move around the city of Southend as home visits are an essential part of this role.
