Southend on sea city council are looking for a motivated and organised contracts support officer to join our resources and recycling team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a vital service area that plays a key role in environmental sustainability and high-quality service delivery. You will support the Resources and Recycling Team in the development and delivery of projects and communications related to recycling, circular economy and wider environmental activities. You will provide advice and guidance to the public and other customers as necessary on behalf of the service, responding within corporate timescales.
You will undertake the statistical analysis of the data and produce reports which identify trends and impact and support resource allocation and decision making internal distribution and external publication. You will assist in the administration and monitoring of contracts for waste, recycling and related environmental services. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and contracts to ensure smooth contract operations. You will collate and deliver corporate and organisational reporting responsibilities as necessary.
To meet the needs of the business, you will be required to attend occasional evening meetings.
To be successful in this position, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. It is essential that you are competent in using systems for data entry, monitoring, and reporting. You must be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. You must be proficient in use of various MS packages especially Excel.
The ideal candidate must have excellent analytical skills and previous experience in finance or data inputting
