Southend on sea city council has a great opportunity for a Library Officer to join the friendly Southend Library team on a part time 21 hours and permanent. As a Library Officer you will provide an efficient and effective service at Leigh library. You will deliver an excellent standard of customer care, undertaking all day-to-day library duties and deputising for the Senior Library Officer when required.
The vacancy will be based at Leigh library but the postholder would be expected to work across all sites if required and the working hours are outlined below:
Week 1 Monday 9-5 / Wednesday 9-5 / Thursday 9-5
Week 2 Wednesday 9-5 / Friday 9-5 / Saturday 9-5
NB: To fulfil the needs of the role, the above hours are set and cannot be changed or amended.
Please be aware that the salary advertised will be pro rata to the number of hours worked (21 hours)
To be successful in this role, it is essential to have a good understanding of the need to provide excellent customer service to the customers and public. Effective verbal and written communication skills and a good standard of literacy and numeracy is vital for this role. It is also essential that you possess a positive, can-do attitude in order to adapt to the pace of change and embrace new technologies and ideas.
