You will be required to pick, load, deliver, assemble, fit, adjust, remove and/or collect any items of equipment for service users in their own homes.   You will also deliver instructions and demonstrate product features (where appropriate) to service users, their carers and/or others.  You will be expected to complete minor adaptations and Telecare installations in service users own property using power tools supplied.

As a Technician, you will be expected to safely handle, move (load and unload) and store items of equipment in full compliance with SBC Manual Handling Policy, Health & Safety Legislation and other relevant policies/procedures, utilising manual handling equipment provided. You will also be expected to safely and considerately drive a delivery vehicle (e.g. Transit type van not HGV) supplied by the service.

You need to demonstrate a proven track record of accurately completing installations to specification, tidily and efficiently in people’s own homes.  It is vital that you are able communicate appropriately with service users and their carers and that you are also able to empathise with people with disabilities in a sensitive manner.

To be successful in this role, you will be required to manually handle a range of objects within service users own home, including installing handrails on stairs. This post will be physically demanding so a level of fitness is required to safely handle products, install adjust items when appropriate / required. City & Guilds or NVQ Qualification in a relevant building trade will be highly desirable but not essential.

To meet the needs and demands of this post, you may be required to work some weekend overtime. Your application will not be considered if you do not possess a full and clean driving license.
